For thousands of years, pets and humans have had a special bond. Most owners teach their pets only what they need to know, but they can be trained to learn more to adapt themselves in the changing habitat. The key to having a happy, healthy pet is to be a responsible pet owner, who constantly strives to make pet’s life a good one. One must also accept the fact that there will be many of our co-residents who will not be friendly of pets and many who bear a fear of animals. Each pet owner must respect this simple fact to ensure harmonious living.
AETFOCMSL Pet Policy is simple and gives enough space for a happy, peaceful coexistence and every resident of AET must adhere to these guidelines.
- Pet owner must complete the Pet registration form before having a pet at his/her flat in AET.
- All pet owners are advised to register their pet with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and obtain a licence as per Govt guidelines.
Register pet with GHMC Online | Neighbour NOC Format | Application User Manual - Wild and dangerous animals are disallowed to be kept as pets, so are all animals which may not legally be kept in captivity as per the Wildlife Protection Act 1972 and Cruelty to Animals Act 1960.
- AETFOCMSL does not hold any responsibility if any home owner/tenant is keeping pets not legally allowed to be kept in captivity. AETFOCMSL will cooperate with authorities should legal proceedings be invoked on such individuals.
- Pets should not be kept, bred and used for commercial purposes while in AET.
- Sale of puppies or birds amounts to commercial activity which is prohibited in AET.
- Vaccination of pet is a prime responsibility of pet owner and an integral part of their care. Pet owners must ensure that all pets are vaccinated and must maintain full vaccination record and must be able to submit the latest vaccination records on demand.
- Animals/pets are not allowed in the shopping zone, swimming pool area, club house, lawns, children play zones and lobby areas.
- Pets are allowed only in the service lifts and not in the passenger lifts. In case of non-availability of service lift, as in cases of breakdown/service/repair or in prolonged use for material shifting or garbage movement, then pets might be taken in passenger lifts, however, pet owners are advised to wait the turn in case it inconviniences others already in.
- Pets in transit and on walk inside the premise of apartment are to be carried, restrained by a leash at all times. Your pet may be friendly with you, he may not be as friendly or be over friendly with a stranger.
- Your pet must be under your vocal command. Pets are not allowed to run around unleashed in the campus.
- Pet owner is responsible for the removal of waste and poop by collecting and disposing it.
- Pets owners should ensure that the pet relieves itself ONLY in designated pet litter zones identified by the society or outside the campus keeping the surroundings and their cleanliness in mind.
- Please do not take the pets to basements to relieve them.
- If the pet relieves itself in any other common area, it is the responsibility of pet owner to have the area cleaned and washed/disinfected.
- Please use a poop scooper as necessary while walking your pets.
- Repeated violations by owners not cleaning up after their pets will lead to penalties being levied on the owner for dirtying the campus.
- Residents are responsible for the pets of the guests who visit their unit, such pets are subject to the same guidelines as those of residents.
- Feeding of pets in common areas must be avoided.
- The pet owner must make sure that their pet does not cause any nuisance in the neighbourhood.
- In each apartment block, you have scores of people walking in and out, from maids to milkman to children. It is essential to train the pets especially dogs, so that they don’t get provoked on seeing neighbours and workers.
- Pet needs to be toilet trained and taught some amount of discipline. Pet owner should ensure that his/her pet doesn’t fight with other pets.
- Pets should not be allowed to go near the garbage bins or collection areas either in the corridors or in the common areas.
- Each resident should de-register your pet while moving out of AET or moving your pet out from AET.
- Regardless of the circumstances, the pet owner is ultimately responsible for the actions of the pet.
- Every pet owner will need to sign the declaration along with the submission of pet detail in the Move-in form.

Pet Welfare Committee
The Society will form a Pet Welfare committee comprising members from all blocks and two MC members. This committee will help in coordinating with other pet owners and making the society (and its residents) a pet-friendly one. The committee will also help guide the newly moved in pet owners to adapt to amicable community living.
The composition of this committee will be informed soon.

I suggest we provide an option to take pets in passenger lift as well with consent of co passengers as well given the service lift could be occupied in mornings for garbage collection and milk vendors
I agree .
Agreed with draft pets policy for AET
Very comprehensive overall and good job creating this. One suggestion- maybe we can allow one passenger elevator in each block for pets with the other one being strictly unavailable for pets. Clear signage can indicate this and fines can be imposed in case of violation.
