A Driving Licence is issued at the Regional Transport Office or Motor Vehicles Inspector’s Office, having jurisdiction over your residential area. AET falls under the jurisdiction of the Hyderabad West Zone (Tolichowki) RTA Office.
Eligibility
- After completion of 16 years of age, for driving motor cycles with engine capacity not exceeding 50cc with the consent of the parent / guardian.
- After completion of 18 years of age, motor cycles with engine capacity exceeding 50cc and light motor vehicle.
- After completion of 20 years of age, for an endorsement to drive transport vehicles.

Apply for a Driving Licence Online
Step 1: Getting a Learner’s Licence
- Valid Address Proof (Aadhaar Card, Passport, Election Voter ID Card, Telephone Bill, Bank Passbook, Gas connection bill etc.,)
- Valid Date of Birth Proof (Educational Certificate showing date of birth, Passport, Birth Certificate Issued by Authorised Authority like GHMC, Municipality etc.,)
- Application in Form No.2.
- Form No. 1(Self declaration as to the physical fitness for Non- Transport vehicles only).
- Form No. 1 A (Medical Certificate-for Transport category Vehicles / for the applicant above the age of 40 Years).
- Fees as prescribed Under Rule 32 of CMV Rules ,1989 along with user charges.

Step 2: Getting a Permanent Licence
An application for a driving Licence shall be made in Form 4 and shall be accompained by
- An effective learner’s Licence to drive the vehicle of the type to which the and application relates.
- Appropriate fee as specified in Rule 32 (CMV RULES), for the test of competence to drive and issue of Licence.
- Three copies of the applicant’s recent passport size photographs.
- Medical certificate in Form 1A wherever applicable. An application for a medical certificate (Form – IA) shall contain a declaration in Form – 1.
- A driving certificate in Form 5 in case of transport Licence.

Step 3: Renewal of Driving Licence
Transport Department of Telangana provides for online slot- booking to schedule for renewal of driving Licence. Please visit the website for scheduling an appointment shall be made in Form No.9 to the Licence authority having jurisdiction over the area in which the applicant originally resides or carries on business and shall be accompanied by –
- Appropriate fee for Renewal as specified in Rule 32 CMV RULES
- Three copies of the applicant’s recent passport size photographs, if renewal is made in Form 6
- The driving Licence.
- The medical certificate in Form 1A wherever applicable. An application for a medical certificate (Form – IA) shall contain a declaration in Form – 1

RTA m-Wallet App
RTA m-Wallet is a Digital wallet to store all the documents issued by the transport department of the Government of Telangana in India. You can store your offically available Driving Licence and vehicle Registration cards online and these are acceptable by the Police instead of the physical card.
